The cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 has finally been RuVealed – and it includes the show’s first ever cis, straight male competitor.
The list of new queens was unveiled on Thursday (2 December) by last year’s winner Symone. The new season will kick off on 7 January 2022, and the first episode will be a two-parter.
RuPaul’s Drag Race has finally started to shake things up in recent years, and season 14 is no exception – comedy queen Maddy Morphosis is set to become the show’s first ever cis, straight man to compete.
According to her Instagram account, Maddy Morphosis is “Arkansas’s most overrated drag queen”. After she was announced as a contestant, she posted on social media: “The game is on! And I’m excited to announce that I’m a contestant on season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race! The game will NEVER be the same!”

Angeria Paris VanMicheals, a Southern pageant queen, said she was “over the moon” to have won a place on season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, while Seattle queen Bosco said: “Here’s to showing my ass on national television!”
The new season will also feature Missouri based queen Daya Betty, a six foot four queen who is sure to make an impact. Meanwhile, Deja Skye boasts “killer lip sync skills”, according to a press release.
Other queens to make their debut on season 14 include New York queen Jasmine Kennedie and Latina diva Jorgeous. Los Angeles queen June Jambalaya, who is known for her dancing skills, will also make an appearance.
The series will also feature two trans women – Kerri Colby hails from Los Angeles and is a member of the House of Colby. Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté is sure to make waves with her food-based style.
Announcing the news, Kornbread wrote on Instagram: “We did it. I did it for US! Is you HUNGRY? Cuz b***h I’m BAKED!!”
The series will also see British queen Lady Camden, now based in Sacramento, storming the werk room, while Orion Story is sure to turn heads with her “smouldering Lana Del Rey energy”.
The final queen announced as part of season 14 is Willow Pill, who also happens to be drag sister to season 11 winner Yvie Oddly.
Drag Race has increasingly moved towards greater diversity in recent years after RuPaul faced criticism when he suggested that he didn’t think trans women who had undergone gender affirming surgeries should be allowed to compete.
Since then, RuPaul has changed his perspective. Last year, Gottmik became the first ever trans man to compete on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
