Dreaming of a beach holiday? Add these places to your travel bucket list
What is it about visiting one of the world's most beautiful places that make it so unique? For me, it's the sense of transcendence and tranquillity.
The contrast between the white sandy beaches and the deeper blue water reflecting the sun is what makes it so unique. And you won't need a magical crystal ball to figure out where you'll go on your next adventure because these crystal-clear waters will be waiting for you until you're fit enough to fly again.
Radhanagar Beach, Andaman
Radhanagar Beach in Andaman's Havelock Island is considered Asia's best beach and the world's 16th best beach. With emerald blue coasts, long white beaches, and picturesque sunsets, Radhanagar Beach is a sight to behold. Tourists can rent snorkelling, scuba diving, and boating facilities from a water-sports centre on the Radhanagar coast.
Horseshoe Bay, Bermuda
While Horseshoe Bay has become one of the island's most well-known beaches, it also has a secret gem: Port Royal Cove, which has shallow water and dramatic rock formations that complement the soft, pink sand. The local Spicelands Equestrian Centre also offers trail rides down to a private cove that is part of Southampton Parish's South Shore Park.
Unawatuna, Sri Lanka
Unawatuna Beach, nearby Galle, mainly in the south, is widely regarded as one of the finest stretches of sand on the island. There are no visible rocks or reefs on the ocean floor, and the water is clear and wet. A narrow path parallel to the ocean is lined with bars, shops, and jewellery stalls.
The Baths, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
Natural virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands is 8.5 square miles in natural beauty. Beautiful beaches and turquoise coves can be found on the island. The Baths, a seaside area where massive granite boulders form scenic saltwater pools and caves, is perhaps the prettiest (and most popular) attraction in the area.
Marari Beach, Kerala, India
The peaceful Marari Beach can be found close to Alleppey in the tiny fishing village of Mararikulam. Nat Geo named this beach one of the top five hammock beaches in the world. If you want to see the Kerala backwaters, this is the place to go.
Sunset Beach, Oahu
In the winter, it's one of the most significant spots in the world to see big wave surfing (the beach hosts the Vans Triple Crown), and in the summer, the sea is as calm as a pool, making it an ideal destination for snorkelling. Don't towel off and go home only yet after a day in the sand and surf: The sunsets, as the name implies, are what truly cement the deal for travellers.
Matira Beach, Bora Bora, French Polynesia
The mile-long stretch of silky, powder-white sand gently slopes into a shallow emerald lagoon, framed by a thick canopy of palms and tropical plants. Matira is currently Tahiti's most famous beach, and for a good reason: Is there a reward? Since it's one of Bora Bora's only public beaches, you won't have to pay five-star resort prices to enjoy its beauty. Arrive early to ensure a spot to get a lovely tan!
Honokalani Beach, Wai’anapanapa State Park, Maui
Honokalani Beach is a photographer's paradise, with its jet-black sea, electric-blue oceans, and calm, jungle-like vegetation. There are seaside lava tubes, sea caves cut into the lava cliffs by the coast and standing on the "bank," constructed entirely of tiny lava pebbles. It's the finest of unspoiled Hawaii and a must-see on the way to Hana.
Butterfly Beach, Goa, India
Butterfly Beach, located in South Goa, is a hidden gem. The beach is accessible by ferry from Palolem and Agonda beaches. Butterfly Beach, which is surrounded by dense forests and overlooks the turquoise waters, is the place to be for every severe nature enthusiast. The magnificent shore is surrounded by beautiful trees, well away from the party noises. The beach's headland is built like butterfly wings, and colourful butterflies flutter over the cove.
Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
The whole length of this 5.5-mile-long cove, which is located on the western shore of the 75-square-mile island, is public property. Snorkelling in Cemetery Reef is expected because of the rocky structures that provide ideal habitat for sea life. You can have lunch at an oceanfront pub, join a volleyball game with locals, and ride Jet Skis farther down the beach all in the same afternoon!
Banana Beach, Koh Hey (Coral) Island, Phuket, Thailand
Banana Beach is surrounded by a national park and a marine preserve. The popularity of boat tours and snorkelling, water kayaking, and parasailing inspired the term. With small amenities and just one bamboo restaurant, this is a great spot to spend a hot day!
Fundu Lagoon, Pemba Island, Zanzibar
Zanzibar, Tanzania's most well-known tropical isle, is known for its spices and glistening seas, lapped by palm-fringed beaches. Pemba Island, part of the Zanzibar archipelago, is particularly lovely, with stunning beaches. The beach at Fundu Lagoon is a secret gem that must be discovered. With too much anonymity, you'll seem to be the first one to arrive on the beach.
Tarkarli beach, Maharashtra, India
Spend some time alone on the sand at Tarkarli. And it is one of India's best beaches. The Sindhudurg fort's white sand and breathtaking views are well worth your time. Moreover, you can adventure water sports such as parasailing, snorkelling, and even scuba diving are accessible.
White Beach, Boracay, Philippines
Boracay is an animated screensaver of pristine white sand, blue water, and a green woodland backdrop. With caverns and beachside dining, White Beach is the island's busiest stretch of beach. The island used to be a hidden gem with one of the world's most gorgeous beaches, but now the secret is out. Start your evening at Restaurant Sirena at Shangri-La Boracay; the food is lovely.
North Island, Seychelles
The West Beach Bar on Seychelles' North Island, also known as "Sunset Beach," is host to tortoises wandering in the trees and bushes, the sea turning pink as the sun sets, and the low hum of familiar voices. It's decent enough for actors to honeymoon here, and it would be pleasant enough for you.
