Yahoo Finance Dua Lipa makes Versace runway debut at Milan Fashion Week
Dua Lipa made her runway debut at Milan Fashion Week this weekend walking for Versace's spring/summer 2022 show.
The award-winning singer opened the show in a black skirt suit which was held together by safety pins, à la Elizabeth Hurley. Paired with chunky black platform sandals and a straight and sleek hair-do, Dua looked confident as she walked down the runway with blue and green-hued eyeliner and a nude lip – to her own song Physical. According to People, the entire catwalk was accompanied by tracks from Dua's latest album Future Nostalgia.
It's reported that the dress was a tribute to the Versace gown worn by Elizabeth Hurley when she accompanied Hugh Grant, her then-boyfriend, to the premiere of Four Weddings And A Funeral in 1994.
Dua shared the catwalk with supermodels like Gigi Hadid, Naomi Campbell and Emily Ratajkowski.
As well as opening the show, she also closed it too – this time wearing a shimmery metal pink mesh cropped top and matching midi skirt. The singer teamed the look with bright pink strappy heels, chunky rings and a delicate necklace. She wore the same poker straight hairstyle with her bangs clipped back, and the same graphic liner from her first look. We are totally obsessed with this look – it's literally everything, and Dua pulls it off seamlessly.
The star then took to Instagram after the show had concluded to post a series of photographs from her runway debut, penning a simple caption that read: "A very #versaceSS22 slideeeeeeeee 💕."
Friends and fans of the singer-turned-model flooded the comments with compliments. Paris Hilton left a simple comment that read, "😍😍😍" and Dua's younger sister Anna-Rina Lipa, a 20-year-old model commented "Versace girlll ❤️🔥"
She later posted a BTS video with Gigi Hadid, to which Donatella Versace commented, "You and @gigi look amaaaazing!! I’ve been thinking about last night all day!!!"
We can't get enough of Dua Lipa on the runway.. maybe we'll see her at another show soon? Fingers crossed.
