The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made their first public appearance since Prince Philip's funeral on Wednesday (21 April), both wearing black as a sign of respect for William's late grandfather.

Will and Kate were visiting the East Ham Squadron Air Training Corps in east London, where they spoke with Air Cadets.

During the visit, the Squadron paid tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh, who served as the Air-Commodore-in-Chief of the Air Training Corps for 63 years.

In 2015, Prince Philip passed the military patronage to The Duchess of Cambridge who became Honorary Air Commandant.

After chatting to the Air Cadets during their visit, Kate went to sit in a flight simulator, while wearing a black face mask to respect current Coronavirus restrictions.

The duchess' military-style black coat with gold button detailing is thought to hail from designer brand Dolce & Gabanna, while Prince William opted for a dark suit.
