Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor 3 confirmed for UFC 264 in Las Vegas this summer
Conor McGregor’s eagerly anticipated trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier will happen this summer after all, the UFC have officially announced.
The lightweight rivals were due to go head to head in the octagon for the third time in the main event at UFC 264 on July 10, six months after Poirier successfully avenged his emphatic 2014 defeat with a memorable second-round stoppage at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi in January.
However, McGregor insisted in an expletive-laden tweet on Monday night that the bout was “off” following a row over his proposed $500,000 donation to Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation.
But the fight was officially announced by the UFC and president Dana White on Wednesday, with the card set to take place back at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in front of a full capacity crowd.
"I am so happy to finally be able to say that Vegas is back. This summer Las Vegas is open for business and on July 10 UFC 264 will be at the T-Mobile Arena at 100 per cent capacity at 20,000 fans,” White said.
