Eagle Materials (EXP) Matches Q3 Earnings Estimates

Eagle Materials (EXP) came out with quarterly earnings of $3.20 per share, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. This compares to earnings of $2.53 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

A quarter ago, it was expected that this maker of gypsum wallboard and cement would post earnings of $3.58 per share when it actually produced earnings of $3.72, delivering a surprise of 3.91%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

Eagle Materials , which belongs to the Zacks Building Products - Concrete and Aggregates industry, posted revenues of $511.49 million for the quarter ended December 2022, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 4.37%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $462.94 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates two times over the last four quarters.
