EastEnders star Davood Ghadami is joining the cast of Holby City

Holby City spoilers follow.

EastEnders star Davood Ghadami is joining the cast of Holby City, following his exit as Kush Kazemi.

The actor, who has played market trader Kush since 2014, has already filmed his final scenes in the Walford soap, with his exit due to air next week.

Fans won't have to wait long to see Davood on screens again though, as he will be swapping the Square for life at Holby, where he'll be playing Eli Ebrahimi – a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon.

Described as talented, if slightly idiosyncratic surgeon, Eli has been billed as excitable, passionate, exploding with energy and someone who puts work above everything.

Speaking about his new role, Davood said in a statement: "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining such a brilliant show. Holby City is renowned for its quality storytelling and I"m excited for the audience to meet Eli and watch the drama that unfolds on his arrival!”
