EastEnders' Stuart has cancer fears after worrying health news

EastEnders spoilers follow.

Stuart Highway is facing fears that he may have cancer after receiving alarming medical news in EastEnders.

The past week has seen his wife Rainie Highway begging Stuart to see the doctor because he's had a rash on his chest that would not go away.

In Thursday's episode (December 2), Stuart was faced with an embarrassing situation when he agreed to take part in a fitness photoshoot at Sharon Watts' new Walford gym.

Stuart was left red-faced when organiser Peter Beale insisted he'd have to take his shirt off for the photos. Rather than explain his situation with the rash, Stuart ran out in a rush.

This situation was the final straw that made Stuart agree to have himself checked out at Walford General Hospital.

He was understandably nervous throughout the consultation as he claimed he was just trying to keep Rainie happy by getting an evaluation.

However, Stuart started to panic when he was asked to take a seat because something was found during the examination. It was explained that he had a lump on his chest that would need to be biopsied.

When he was told he'd be sent to have the lump biopsied the following week, Stuart tried to remain composed while stumbling over his question about whether he may have breast cancer.

"Is it 'the word'?" he nervously asked.

He was told that they wouldn't know for sure until after he had a biopsy, but this only served to stoke Stuart's fears that he may be facing a cancer diagnosis.

"Let's just run some tests and go from there," he was told.

Next week's episodes will reveal more as Stuart goes for his biopsy and finds out more about what he will be facing in the future.

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
