Egdon Resources and IGas Energy rise on Total fracking deal

LONDON, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Shares in Egdon Resources (LSE: EDR.L - news) and IGas Energy (Other OTC: IGESF - news) soared on Monday after the partners signed a farm-out deal with Total SA (Paris: FR0000120271 - news) , making the French company the first oil major to back shale gas exploration in Britain.

Shares in Egdon rose 45 percent to 13.55 pence at 0816 GMT, while IGas Energy was up 15 percent to 124 pence. (Reporting by Paul Sandle, Editing by Li-mei Hoang)
