eLearning Brothers Releases Lectora Desktop 21 for Powerful eLearning Authoring

·2-min read

New Productivity Updates & a Fresh New Look

Learning technology company eLearning Brothers today released Lectora Desktop 21, which has been reimagined and redesigned to conquer modern business challenges. Its innovations include powerful new modular development functionality to accelerate eLearning development and a redesigned UI that dramatically improves authoring efficiency. These new innovations within Lectora Desktop 21 (and soon to be available within Lectora Online) further solidify eLearning Brothers’ position as a one-stop-shop for online learning.

"Lectora 21 places advanced features like scrolling pages, embedded scripting, and xAPI at your fingertips," states Domenic Caloia, Sr. Learning Developer for Sensormatic Solutions. "Users can easily create vertical scrolling with parallax effects, embed JavaScript and web objects, and track learner actions with ease!"

Drawing upon thousands of documented use cases from the eLearning Brothers Customer Success team and Lectora’s product team, a new authoring methodology, called rapid Modular Development (ModDev), evolved and it provides the foundation for Lectora 21.

"Lectora is known in the eLearning authoring community for power, versatility, and accessibility," said Chris Willis, Product Director for Lectora at eLearning Brothers and Co-Host of the Lectora 21 release webinar. "In order to fulfill our brand promise, we knew we also had to make it easier to get started in Lectora for the first time, then quickly realize business value."

These ModDev tools, which dramatically reduce time, save money, and extend resources with repeatable, scalable processes include:

  • Ready-made instructional design frameworks

  • Mobile-ready themes & style packs

  • Interactive wireframe templates

  • New library of templatized interactions

With these new ModDev elements, instructional designers can customize and brand once, and blast their branded modular templates across a global organization for consistent, professional results. In addition to new rapid ModDev tools, Lectora improved its UI and UE using its own technology, by testing usability of different interfaces with users - all captured with xAPI data. The data which uncovered ease-of-use and preferences amongst several users led to a Modernized Interface, with easier access to templates, assets, and objects, all of which accelerate authoring time.
