Eli Lilly, Apple, Yum! Brands, Nintendo: Companies to watch

Here are the companies the Yahoo Finance team is watching today.

The world's biggest drug companies announced a major deal. Eli Lilly (LLY) is buying Dermira (DERM) for about $1.1 billion dollars in stock. The biopharma company is working on a potential blockbuster treatment for dermatitis, that's currently in Phase 3 clinical trials.

Apple (AAPL) is accused of stealing technology and secrets for the health feature on its Apple Watch. Health care tech company Masimo filed a lawsuit against Apple, saying it obtained company secrets by faking a working relationship and then hired away key Masimo employees. Masimo claims its technology was key to Apple overcoming performance issues with its Watch.

It's a tough labor market for Yum! Brands (YUM). In order to find prospects in a dwindling pool of restaurant managers the company's Taco Bell brand is offering $100,000 to people in some location. It's also hoping it will keep current managers from leaving. The company usually offers $50,000 to $80,000 dollars to managers.

Pokemon fans are going into battle against Nintendo (NTDOY). Players are upset because they're being charged $60 for an expansion pass for the games “Pokemon Sword” and “Shield.” That's in addition to each game costing $60 and an online subscription service that adds up to another $20 a year. When the announcement was made on YouTube fans said they'd go broke with this price point.
