Elisabeth Moss Reveals First Pregnancy During Appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

Elisabeth Moss is going to be a mom.

The Emmy winning star of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale confirmed paparazzi-fueled speculation during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday by revealing that she is, in fact, expecting a child. The 41-year-old actress appeared visibly pregnant as she walked out from the side of the stage to take a seat next to Kimmel, who cut right to the chase. “Are you pregnant or just an incredibly committed method actor?” Kimmel asked, to which she replied, “A little bit of both.”

The baby talk proved to be relatively brief as Moss said that she’s “really lucky” and that her pregnancy thus far has “been going really well.” She did not name the baby’s father but did ask Kimmel for advice. The beloved host, father to four children, recalled some words of wisdom he received from Bill Murray.

“He said, ‘Bring Christmas lights to hang up,'” Kimmel noted, referring to the delivery room’s lack of soft lighting. He added that Murray also suggested battery-powered candles. “Because the lighting is terrible in the room. It’s Walmart-style lighting for this blessed event that’s going to happen and you don’t want that.”

Moss appeared on the late-night show to promote her starring role in another Hulu series titled The Veil, though it doesn’t premiere until April. Her appearance on Kimmel’s show presumably came early as she’s expected to be on maternity leave by the time the show hits streaming.

Moss, who previously was married to Fred Armisen, has not publicly commented on her current relationship status. Earlier this month, pregnancy rumors kicked into overdrive after paparazzi pics surfaced of Moss sporting a baby bump while filming a new movie, Max Minghella’s Shell opposite Kate Hudson, Este Haim and Kaia Gerber.
