Victoria Beckham has cited Elton John's passion for performing as a motivation for her to “step away” from the Spice Girls.
The fashion designer shared how watching the Rocketman hitmaker was a "life-changing moment" in the letter to her future self she penned for British Vogue.
“Remember years ago, watching your dear friend Elton John on stage in Las Vegas," the 46-year-old wrote. "He performed Tiny Dancer, as if it were the first time, and you realised this was like oxygen for him.

“It was a life-changing moment – while singing and dancing was fun for you, it wasn’t your passion.
“That day, you started your quest to uncover your own dreams. It was time to step away from being a Spice Girl.”
Ginger Spice Geri Horner, then Halliwell, left the group back in 1998. Beckham stayed alongside Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton with the foursome releasing the group's final studio album back in 2000.
The band then went on a return tour between 2007 and 2008 and reunited for a special performance at the London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012.
Brown, Bunton, Chisholm and Horner once again got together for a comeback tour in 2019, however, Beckham declined to participate due to commitments to her fashion business and her family.

In her letter, Beckham added that choosing to start up her eponymous fashion label, which launched in 2008, was "terrifying" and that it was "scary" to close the Spice Girls chapter of her life.
She wed David Beckham in 1999 and they share four children, sons Brooklyn, 21, Romeo, 18, Cruz, 15 and nine-year-old daughter Harper.
