Ericsson: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

STOCKHOLM (AP) _ Ericsson (ERIC) on Friday reported a loss of $722.2 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Stockholm-based company said it had a loss of 22 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 9 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 13 cents per share.

The telecommunications equipment provider posted revenue of $7.05 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $752 million, or 23 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $24.28 billion.

Ericsson shares have dropped roughly 4 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 20 percent in the last 12 months.
