EU says talks with UK intensive, no comment on timing for a deal

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Intensive negotiations between British and European Union teams seeking a post-Brexit deal are continuing, the bloc's executive said on Tuesday, declining to comment on reports that an agreement could be clinched early next week.

"What is clear is that we continue to negotiate intensively with our UK partners and we aim, obviously, to find a deal when the conditions will be there," European Commission spokesman Eric Mamer told a news conference.

"We are not going to give a blow-by-blow account of what negotiators are working towards."
