Euro zone consumer confidence dips slightly in May

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Euro zone consumer confidence dipped slightly in May against expectations for no change, figures released by the European Commission showed on Wednesday.

The European Commission said a flash estimate showed euro zone consumer morale fell to 0.2 points from 0.3 points in April, without providing details of what caused the move.

The April number was also revised down from an initially reported 0.4. Economists polled by Reuters had on average expected no change.

In the European Union as a whole, consumer sentiment rose by 0.4 points to -0.1 in May.
