European car association ACEA warns of no-deal Brexit

FRANKFURT, Sept 11 (Reuters) - A no-deal Brexit should be avoided at all costs as it would hurt the automotive industry, the Association of European Carmakers (ACEA) said on Wednesday.

"That would create a lot of disturbance in the industry and would hurt our communities," ACEA president Carlos Tavares said ahead of the opening of the IAA Frankfurt auto show.

"We think we should be avoiding at all means a no-deal Brexit that will hurt our communities, that will hurt our companies," Tavares added. (Reporting by Ilona Wissenbach Writing by Thomas Seythal Editing by Madeline Chambers)
