Everlane Just Restocked Its Sold Out Swimwear (and Dropped a New Bikini Style)

First, there were the super-soft affordable cashmere sweaters. Then came the simple everyday T-shirts that fit like a dream. Next it was denim, done in a sustainable manner. And now, Everlane is stocked with yet another category of must-haves: swimwear.

Earlier this year, Everlane launched bikinis and one-piece swimsuits for beach vacations and dips in the pool, all with its signature minimalist vibe. The new collection started with seven styles—three bikini tops, three bottoms and two one-pieces—all available in sizes XXS through XXL (or roughly 0 to 18 or 20) and all under $100. But added on a string bikini in the beginning of July. The two one-pieces each retail for $65 and the separates cost between $30 and $45. The suits are made from a luxe Italian fabric derived from recycled plastic, making them an eco-friendly choice as well. Right now there are seven solid hues and one print to choose from, though, inexplicably, not every style comes in every color option.

As for fit, Everlane tested its designs on 112 women of varying body types and sizes to ensure the swimwear is truly comfortable for a wide range of women. They also all come with removable pads in the chest and adjustable straps, so you can further customize the fit to your body. Speaking of, if you’re wondering how well these suits actually fit, I have some good news—I was a sent one to test myself and can tell you firsthand that Everlane bikinis definitely live up to expectations.

I tested the Square-Neck Top and Bikini Bottom in a gorgeous dark blue mini floral print, and my first impression taking them out of the packaging was “whoa, this feels nice.” The material is wonderfully soft with just the right amount of stretch to feel supportive but not restrictive. For the tops I’d say order based on your band size, because the straps can be tightened or loosened quite a bit, a feature I greatly appreciated for adjusting the support level to be right where I wanted it. The bottoms fit well, with no digging in at the waist and no riding up in the back and offered full coverage in the rear without looking dowdy. This particular style fits straight across, so if you’re into the V-front look, you might want to consider sizing up one (you can fake this trendy style with just about any suit bottom by pulling the sides up rather than having them sit right on your hips).

My local pool isn’t open yet and neither are the beaches, so testing how this suit performs when wet meant wearing it into the shower (you know, as one does). But I'm happy to report it was just as comfortable submerged in water as it was dry, and continued to wear well with no riding up or bunching, even as I jumped around. You could definitely wear this suit to swim laps, play some beach volleyball or run after your kids at the pool without fear of anything accidentally popping out or developing a wedgie.

Read on to see all eight of Everlane’s timeless swim designs and decide which one (or three) you want to sport this summer.
