Selena Gomez’s HBO Max show “Selena + Chef” is made for foodies.

A foodie is someone who has a passion for food — someone who eats not only because they’re hungry, but because they love the taste, smell and overall experience of dining. But, that doesn’t mean they can cook a great meal themselves.

Selena admits in a trailer for the show that while she loves to eat, she needs some help in the kitchen. So, she enlists the help of 10 master chefs to teach her to cook remotely and invites friends and family over to taste test. Selena even brought her BFF Taylor Swift to join her in an episode! The show made its debut on HBO Max during the summer of 2020 and it was a hit. (Get a free 7-day free trial of Hulu and HBO Max.)

However, viewers can’t seem to take their eyes off of one thing: Gomez’s beautiful rainbow knife set. The 14-piece Marco Almond knife set features rainbow blades with turquoise handles and they’re sold on Amazon for $59.98. It’s a steal, considering that some knife sets can run well over $300.

The knives are of high quality, too. They’re made with durable stainless steel and coated with titanium (this is what gives them the rainbow color effect). In the series’ first episode, guest star Chef Ludo Lefebvre asks Selena to try slicing a piece of paper, the ultimate test of sharpness, and she does with ease. “Selena, I’ve never seen blue knives like that,” he says impressed. And he’s not the only chef in the series to call them out.

The set includes an 8-inch chef knife, an 8-inch bread knife, an 8-inch slicing knife, a 7-inch santoku knife, a 5-inch utility knife, a 3.5-inch paring knife, all-purpose kitchen shears and six 4.5-inch steak knives — basically everything you need to prepare and eat a meal.

Amazon reviewers give the rainbow set 4.8 out of 5 stars, along with over 3,600 positive reviews.

“I ordered these knives nearly two months ago and wanted to give them some use before writing a review. I am EXTREMELY pleased with these knives. They cut like a dream and they are beautiful to look at as well,” one Amazon reviewer wrote.

The knives are dishwasher safe, although some reviewers complained of water spots after running them through their machines. Nonetheless, the same reviewer said they had no problem when handwashing them.

“I handwash the knives immediately after using and towel dry before putting them away. I haven’t had any issues with water spots at all. Love these!” they added.

No matter which level of chef you consider yourself to be, a solid knife set is important. Dull knives can cause injury if they slip off of produce instead of slicing right through and a sharper knife can guarantee more precise cuts. Of course, it never hurts when your kitchen tools look pretty too.
