Exclusive: Neighbours star Vani Dhir on Kirsha Rebecchi's return

From Digital Spy

Neighbours spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Neighbours star Vani Dhir has spoken to Digital Spy about what's ahead for Kirsha Rebecchi as she returns to Erinsborough.

Monday's episode on Channel 5 (January 25) sees Kirsha make a comeback to celebrate Christmas with her family.

Kirsha's parents Shane and Dipi have recently split up, but she holds out hope of playing matchmaker and engineering a romantic reunion for them over the festive season.

Speaking to Digital Spy about what's in store, Vani explained: "Obviously Kirsha is concerned and upset about what's been happening, but she is very resilient and she is making it her life's mission to get everyone back together and have a Christmas free from drama.

"Kirsha is hoping that the Christmas magic will show her parents just how important family is and how important setting differences aside is.

"I don't think Kirsha is on any sides between them. She blames both of them because she acknowledges that they both made mistakes, however she has faith that both her mum and dad can see past each other's mistakes and try to work it out.

"She is very hopeful that, with her help and the help of some Christmas miracles, they will get back together."

Kirsha's return marks the first time that all three of the Rebecchi kids have appeared in the show together. Dhruv Malge is currently playing the previously-absent Jay Rebecchi for a guest stint.

Vani continued: "It was so good! Dhruv and I get along so well. We have lots of banter and can talk for hours and hours about anything. Having everyone together was great especially with all the Christmas spirit, it really was one big family.

"Jay and Kirsha are very close and Jay is obviously very protective over his little sister, but overall, they get along great and have lots of banter."

Vani confirmed that she'd be interested in returning to Neighbours on a permanent basis in the future.

She said: "I love the Neighbours cast and crew so much, so it's definitely a possibility because I do want to pursue acting for good, but I guess we'll have to see what happens."

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
