F. Grasberger Bought 3.1% More Shares In Enviri

Investors who take an interest in Enviri Corporation (NYSE:NVRI) should definitely note that the Chairman, F. Grasberger, recently paid US$7.59 per share to buy US$190k worth of the stock. While that's a very decent purchase to our minds, it was proportionally a bit modest, boosting their holding by just 3.1%.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Enviri

In fact, the recent purchase by F. Grasberger was the biggest purchase of Enviri shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of US$7.95. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. We do always like to see insider buying, but it is worth noting if those purchases were made at well below today's share price, as the discount to value may have narrowed with the rising price. Happily, the Enviri insiders decided to buy shares at close to current prices.

Insider Ownership Of Enviri

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Insiders own 2.2% of Enviri shares, worth about US$14m. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.

So What Do The Enviri Insider Transactions Indicate?

It is good to see the recent insider purchase. And an analysis of the transactions over the last year also gives us confidence. But we don't feel the same about the fact the company is making losses. Given that insiders also own a fair bit of Enviri we think they are probably pretty confident of a bright future. Of course, the future is what matters most.
