Gameweek 27 of the Fantasy Premier League season has arrived and boasts another double for in-form Manchester City.
After a bumper DGW that promised so much and did not live up to expectations - certainly if you were me, anyway - this week could pose a trickier proposition for players.
With the FPL deadline at 11am GMT on March 6, here are some of the key players you should consider for your team - and perhaps think about handing the armband to…
Goalkeeper
Ederson, Man City (£6.1m)
Picking the No1 of a team who have forgotten how to lose isn’t an inspired differential pick, but a double GW against a Manchester United team who are seemingly unable to score against direct rivals and a Southampton team bereft of confidence, Ederson can feel relatively confident of not conceding. Twice.
Defender
Kieran Tierney, Arsenal (£5.2m)
This can’t just be all Manchester City so I’ve bucked the trend and gone for Kieran Tierney. Arsenal are starting to hit their stride after confidence-boosting wins over Leeds and Leicester, with even the older guard stepping up. Burnley were, to be frank, a shambles against Tottenham and lucky to wave Leicester off in midweek with points in hand. A clean sheet is likely for the Gunners this weekend, especially with Ashley Barnes still sidelined.
Midfielder
Raphinha, Leeds (5.4m)
If you haven’t got him yet, what are you waiting for? Raphinha has created more chances and expected assists (xA) over the past four gameweeks than anyone else. It's West Ham up next but Leeds are one of the few teams playing in Blank Gameweek 29, and face Fulham away. Tempting.
Striker
Harry Kane, Tottenham (11.1m)
Tottenham’s attack suddenly looks formidable, and Harry Kane was unlucky to score just once over the last Double Gameweek. With Gareth Bale and Dele Alli also moving Heung-min Son into a more creative role - no player created more chances than the South Korean last time out with nine - then Kane against Crystal Palace on Sunday - and Arsenal, Aston Villa in the BGW, and Newcastle to come - looks very appetising.
Who to captain?
Ilkay Gundogan (6.2m)
It couldn’t be anyone else, really. Ilkay Gundogan has earned more points than any other player over the last six GWs and his record against the so-called ‘Big Six’ is similarly impressive with five goals and one assist in five games. Southampton are up there with the worst in the league for conceding chances, so it’s Gundogan for us. Now we await Pep Roulette.
