Your favorite comics are performing at Asian Comedy Fest: Here’s how to watch it

After the past year, we’re all overdue for some great stand-up, and Asian Comedy Fest is poised to deliver.

Following last year’s sold-out run, ACF 2021 features a slate of fan-favorite comedians on the docket. A dramatic reading of Bling Empire from Joel Kim Booster and SNL star Bowen Yang will be an obvious must-watch, and among the live performers are Fumi Abe and Mic Nguyen, hosts of the hilarious podcast Asian Not Asian; Usama Siddiquee, who you’ll recognize from America’s Got Talent; and Late Show writer Michael Cruz Kayne. Also on the lineup are Julia Shiplett, Dylan Adler, Youngmi Mayer, Pranav Behari, Fareeha Khan and Bryan Yang.

Ticket sale proceeds will go to Apex for Youth, an AAPI non-profit that not only provides support to youth from low-income families, but also fights against the rise in anti-Asian violence. (You can read In The Know’s spotlight on an Apex for Youth mentor here.)

For those pursuing (or just interested in) the comedy as a career, a panel called AAPI in the Entertainment Industry will feature insights from producers, actors and writers about navigating the rocky and ever-changing landscape.

Attendees will also get a glimpse at the next wave of comedic talent: Pan-Asian creators from around the world submitted entries via the Rizzle app, and selected winners will be showcased during the livestream.

A hybrid live/digital format will open up the experience beyond New York City. You’ll get a private link to view the whole show as it unfolds. (Really, do you need to spend yet another night scrolling through TikTok? Mix things up a bit!)

ACF will go live on May You can grab tickets here.
