A HEREFORD driver caught with a dodgy window has been fined by magistrates.

Jamie Clinton Roberts was proven guilty of one count of using a motor vehicle on a road when there was insufficient transmission of light through the vehicle glass by magistrates in Llanelli in September.

The court heard from the prosecutor that the 29-year-old had been caught out driving a Ford Fiesta in Heol Penglais, Aberystwyth, on February 2.

OTHER NEWS:

But checks revealed that the front driver's side window was only allowing 19 per cent of light through, while the Road Vehicles Regulations 1986 state that the window must allow the transmission of 70 per cent of light.

Roberts, of Withypool, Hereford, was fined £220 for the offence.

He was also ordered by the court to pay prosecution costs of £90 and an £88 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
