The Food Network has removed the 20th season ofWorst Cooks in America from streaming platforms after the show's winner was charged with murder.

Ariel Robinson – the winner of last year’s season of the reality cooking competition – has been arrested and charged, alongside her husband Jerry Robinson, with the murder of a child in their care.

Deadline reports that the show’s network has since removed Robinson’s season from streaming platforms, including Discovery+ and the Food Network website.

Both Robinson and her husband were charged on Tuesday (19 January) with homicide by child abuse in connection to the death of their three-year-old foster child on 14 January, according to Fox Carolina.

Worst Cooks in America sees two teams of eight amateur cooks competing against one another under the mentorship of chefs and hosts Anne Burell and Robert Irvine.

The chef who makes the most impressive culinary transformation by the end of the series receives $25,000 (£18,252) in winnings .

Robinson – a teacher from Simpsonville, South Carolina – emerged as the show’s winner on 2 August 2020.

The Independent has contacted a representative for the Food Network for comment.
