Boy, 14, among four arrested after man killed in Hampshire triple stabbing

A 14-year-old boy is among four people arrested on suspicion of murder following a triple stabbing outside a Royal British Legion club in Hampshire.

Police officers were called to reports of an assault outside the building on High Street, Lymington at 11.55pm on Friday.

A 23-year-old man died was pronounced dead at the scene and another man and a woman were injured and taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The man, 23, suffered serious injuries while the woman, also 23, received superficial chest wounds which are not life-threatening.

Police confirmed a 14-year-old boy and three men aged 18, 20 and 29 have been arrested and remain in custody.

DCI Dave Storey, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a serious incident and our thoughts remain with the family of the young man who was killed.

“We believe this incident occurred following a verbal dispute at the Royal British Legion and we have arrested four people as part of our enquiries.

“Please be reassured that officers remain on scene and there will be increased patrols in the area. If you have any concerns, or any information about this incident, please do not hesitate to approach officers.”

The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
