I’ve never been a big Halloween person, but I recently got a puppy, and all of the hilarious dog costumes have me feeling a bit festive. And the costume collaboration between Franzia Wines and BARK has me howling with laughter.
The wine and pet brands teamed up to launch a limited edition “BARK Red Blend” costume, and essentially, it looks like a box of Franzia’s best-selling wine blend. It fits over your dog like a soft pillowy sandwich board, so it’s not super hard to put on. I recently got my hands on the costume and put it on my four-month-old toy poodle puppy, much to his dismay. However, I’m confident he’ll learn to love it as he grows into it.

While the costume was more of a hit with me, my pup loved the collab’s second launch: The Franzia dog toy. The toy looks like a box of wine aptly called Cabernet Slobbernon. The outside is a velvety, soft box that makes a slight crinkle noise, and it has a red rope to mimic wine pouring out the spout. Inside, there’s a separate stuffed “bag of wine” plush toy that makes a deep squeaking sound. My dog loves every part of it.

But that’s not all! Franzia Wines also has Halloween costumes for humans, so you can match your dog or go out solo as a box of wine. There are two adult Franzia Chardonnay and Franzia Cabernet Sauvignon wine box costumes, and each one comes with an internal bag that straps around your waist to hold a Franzia wine pouch. Yes, you can pour it out through the costume on one end. There’s also a handy cupholder on the other side. It will definitely be a party favorite.
For the dogs, you can head to BARK’s website to shop the collaboration, and for humans, you can get the costumes on Franzia’s website (the dog stuff is there, too).
