Have you signed up to any subscriptions in the last few years?

Check your bank statement – you may still be paying out each month for something you no longer use or need.

A third of us are wasting around £249 a year for subscription services like online streaming and gym memberships that we don’t use.

Companies take the cash out of our account using something called continuous payment authorities and unless we cancel them, they’ll automatically continue taking the money.

“Many companies rely on customer inertia as a source of revenue,” warns Tashema Jackson of uSwitch. “If you no longer use the service, cancel your subscription.”
