Free Valentine meal and £15 theatre tickets: this week's deals and discounts

There’s a great bunch of money-saving deals and discounts for you to grab this week, including a free meal on Valentine’s Day, £15 West End tickets, and free online training courses.

But remember, a bargain is only a good deal if you were planning to splash out on it anyway.

Free Valentine’s Day meal

Download the Too Good To Go app and order a bargain meal on Wednesday 14 February, and you’ll be refunded the total cost.

The app helps fight food waste by putting people in touch with restaurants and cafes that are happy to sell off meals at low prices at the end of shifts, rather than throw them away.

All meals ordered through the app will be free on Valentine’s Day. Each person can order a maximum of two meals.

Theatre ticket app TodayTix has launched a spring event with West End tickets throughout March at either £15, £25 or £35.

Shows in the deal include School of Rock, Wicked, Aladdin and the Book of Mormon.

Up to 30% off at Lidl

Lidl’s special deals this week start on Tuesday 13 February and include wild rocket (70g) at just 39p, down from 56p, and kiwi fruit down from 35p to 29p each.

Meanwhile the store’s sweet chilli chicken has been cut from £2.99 to £2.49 while smokey barbecue boneless beef ribs are now £2.39, down from £2.99.

The deals will be available in local stores while stocks last.

Pancake day at Poundland

Budget chain Poundland is offering an eight-pack of Ma Rayburn’s Ready-to-eat Pancakes at just 50p a pack – perfect for pancake day on 13 February.

At the show you’ll be able to try out this year’s must-have gadgets and technology and se cooking demonstrations and expert talks.

Elsewhere recruitment firms offer free guides to creating the perfect CV, or about time-management, or other business skills that could help you get that perfect job.

Or you could take a free course that hands you skills that could help you elsewhere, such as cooking or cyber security.
