Yahoo Finance One of Frozen's best songs was only added after poor test screenings
Sure, the undeniably anthemic Let It Go won all the awards, but it's not the only truly classic song from Disney's record-breaking animation Frozen.
Do You Want To Build A Snowman? has it all – introducing us to the reclusive Elsa (mostly through a door) and her sister, the lonely Anna, who pleads for her attention.
Not only does it detail the isolation Anna is forced to endure because of her magical powers, it also hurls in the bombshell that the sisters' parents were tragically lost at sea.

For a single song, it packs in a vast amount of detail in a very short period of time.
But it almost wasn't even in the movie.
Josh Gad, who voices snowman Olaf, has revealed that the early screenings of the movie to test audiences were 'a mess'.
Speaking on the Couch Surfing show (via People), he explained that after the reaction, the movie's song writers, the double EGOT-winning husband and wife team Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, were tasked with sorting it out.
“I'll never forget six, seven months prior to the movie coming out, I was with Bobby Lopez, and I asked 'How's the movie coming?'” says Gad.
“So Bobby looks at me and he goes 'Well we just screened the movie, and it's a mess'. So I go 'can you fix it?' and he says 'I hope so, we're playing around with this idea that we see the girls' affection for each other early on. So we're playing with this song called 'Do You Want To Build A Snowman'.”

Gad continues: “Cut to six months later, I'm with my wife and we're screening it with Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel. I turn to my wife, who's the most critical person I know, and she looks at me goes 'this is really, really special'. I left there thinking 'we hit the mark'.”
Let It Go won the Academy Award for Best Song and a Grammy too, but sadly, Do You Want To Build A Snowman? did not reach the same level of critical glory.
