FTSE 100 movers: Glencore down on fund criticism; Randgold shines on higher prices

LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - The FTSE 100 moved into the red as investors in heavweight shares took no comfort from the US Fed decision not to raise interest rates on Thursday. As the week wound down, the index of 100 leading shares was 115 points, or 1.87% lower at 6069. Glencore (Xetra: A1JAGV - news) shares led the fallers, plunging almost 6% as the Investment Association and the National Association of Pension Funds criticised the commodities group for not considering all the company's shareholders equally when it issued $2.5bn worth of new shares to cut net debt.

With the oil price taking another tumble, oil services group Weir fell 4%.

Miners Randgold Resource and Fresnillo (Other OTC: FNLPF - news) were top risers as the price of gold and silver rose.
