Yahoo Finance “Full House” star Dave Coulier shares a heartfelt voicemail from late Bob Saget: 'I love you so much'
Coulier shared a message the late Saget left in the aftermath of Coulier's brother's death
The love between the guys on Full House was very real.
On Monday's episode of Dave Coulier's podcast Full House Rewind, the actor behind the mischievous Joey Gladstone shared a heartfelt memory of his late costar and friend, Bob Saget.
Coulier welcomed on Saget's wife Kelly Rizzo to reminisce about Saget, and he ended the show by sharing a voicemail Saget left after Coulier's brother died by suicide.
"When my brother Danny took his own life in 2021, Bob was the first person who called me and left a voicemail," Coulier related. "It was an audio hug. I love Bob and he loved me too. I'd like to close this episode by playing that voicemail message that Bob left for me. Maybe someday you can pass along the same kind of compassion for someone you love."
Coulier then played the audio of the message, which features an audibly emotional Saget. "I know it's not a time to call, but I'm right here 24/7 right now, right here," Saget told Coulier. "I love you Dave, and I'm so sorry Dave. I loved him. I'm so sorry."
"So I'm here," the message continues. "I'm here 24/7, just call me any time. Doesn't have to be now, it can be a week, whenever. I can just talk to you and listen. I love you so much."
Saget died unexpectedly in Jan. 2022 while on a stand-up comedy tour. He was only 65 years old.
In the two years since his death, his costars have reminisced often about their memories with Saget. Coulier has even suggested a Full House reunion show where the characters come together to share their favorite stories about Saget's Danny Tanner.
"What I would love to do is bring in all the original cast back, where we are older now and we talk about our lives," Coulier said, "and we can reflect and tell stories about Danny Tanner and keep his character alive, because he's very much alive in spirit with all of us. We miss him dearly."
