Gabrielle Union is trying out a new hairstyle for summer. On July 24, the Bring It On actress debuted her natural curls in a shorter cut on Instagram and TikTok. Union acknowledged that, while stereotypically, people make drastic style changes when life gets hard, she's loving where she's at and is just embracing something new.

"So, I did a thing," Union wrote on Instagram. "The movies always show women cutting their hair when all is lost but I wanted to know the feeling of making a change when things are gravy. It hits different and its foreign to me but I ❤❤❤ this." Union worked with stylist Larry Sims to achieve this exciting chop, and her joyful reaction shows exactly how she feels about the end result. Get a look at the process in Union's photos above and TikTok video ahead.
