Galliford Try reshuffles its executive ranks

LONDON (ShareCast) - Peter Truscott has been appointed as the new chief executive of Galliford Try (LSE: GFRD.L - news) , the construction and housebuilding company confirmed on Thursday. Truscott, who is currently the head of the South of England operations at housebuilder Taylor Wimpey (LSE: TW.L - news) , will begin his new role on 1 October, replacing outgoing CEO Greg Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald will become non-executive chairman of the FTSE 250 group on 1 January 2016, with Peter Ventress, currently CEO of Berendsen (LSE: BRSN.L - news) , set to become chairman in November 2017.

"Peter brings great knowledge and experience of our industry and the Board has every confidence in his ability to continue the strategy for disciplined growth that has already started delivering for shareholders," said Terry Miller, chair of the nomination committee.

Galliford shares were up 1.09% to 1,486.00p at 08:45 on Thursday.
