Yahoo Finance Gavin and Stacey favourite makes special cameo on The Voice Kids UK
The Voice Kids UK fans were treated to a Gavin and Stacey crossover tonight (July 1), as Ruth Jones recorded a special message for contestant Oscar Hartland.
Aged 14, the Welsh singer - who has dreams of becoming a rockstar and sang 'My Hero' by Foo Fighters in his audition - opened the latest series of the ITV competition by revealing a rather cool past life.
"A lot of people don't recognise me now but I was in a huge TV show - I was Neil the Baby in Gavin and Stacey season 3, and I was Neil the Baby again in the Christmas special 2019," he told the camera in his VT.

"Being in Gavin and Stacey was crazy, working with huge names like James Corden, Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones - it was just like, wow!
"People know me for being Neil the Baby in Gavin and Stacey, which I absolutely love, but now I wanna be known for my music and singing," added Oscar, before his mum whipped out her phone to show him the Nessa Jenkins star's message of support.
"I got a big surprise for you from a good friends of yours..." she teased, as an in-character Ruth materialised on screen.

"Oh... Neil the Baby, what's occurring?" began the actress.
"We knows what's occurring, you're on The Voice Kids. Don't forget you takes after your mother when it comes to music, go out there and you smash it kid alright? Crackin'".
This comes several years after Oscar himself shared his hopes for a fourth series of Gavin and Stacey.
The Voice Kids UK airs on ITV, while Gavin and Stacey is available in its entirety over on BBC iPlayer.
