Gazprom plans to complete Nord Stream 2 'as soon as reasonably possible'
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian gas giant Gazprom <GAZP.MM> plans to complete the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline "as soon as reasonably possible", it said in a presentation on Tuesday.
Construction of the 1,230 km pipeline is nearly finished but a final stretch of roughly 120 km in Danish waters still needs to be laid after work was halted in December when Swiss-Dutch pipe-laying company Allseas suspended operations after U.S. sanctions targeted businesses providing vessels to lay the pipes.
Gazprom also said that the company raised a 400 million euro (362.6 million pounds) loan from an international bank last month.
