Ghostbusters: Afterlife new look with Stranger Things star arrives

From Digital Spy

Ghostbusters: Afterlife has dropped a new look at Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard in action.

Following the news that the long-awaited sequel's release date has been delayed yet again amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Empire Magazine has shared a new still from the movie to Twitter on Monday (January 18).

In the image, the It actor can be seen as his character Trevor, alongside Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) and Phoebe's friend (Logan Kim), and the trio are all sporting those classic ghost-hunting jumpsuits, after stumbling upon the original crew's tech in rural Oklahoma.

Anywhere's better than Hawkins, we suppose.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife also stars Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd and Avengers: Infinity War's Carrie Coon.

The film follows two children, Trevor and Phoebe, and their single mother, Callie as they move to a farm in Oklahoma, inherited from their late grandfather. After a series of unexplained earthquakes, the children end up discovering their family's link to the original Ghostbusters, as well as the secret legacy that their grandfather left behind.

Directed by original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman's son, Jason, cast members from the earlier film including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver will all return.

The 2016 female-led Ghostbusters reboot directed by Paul Feig will have no connection to the sequel whatsoever — and, speaking recently, Jason Reitman shared his wish to return the franchise to its horror origins.

"The feeling that I've kind of held onto is that while [the original] is very funny, it really scared me," he told Empire.

"It was really my first experience with a horror film."
