It’s pretty clear that the social distancing guidelines will remain in effect through the winter, which means we’ll be driven inside as temperatures drop. Alvantor is making sure that we can enjoy the outdoors throughout the season, (with your direct household members, only), thanks to its huge bubble tents.

The brand has a range of tents meant for different things, like for the beach and camping, but the ones we’re looking at are ideal for hanging out in your backyard. Dubbed the Winter Screen House Room, the bubble tent is roundish and the top is covered. All you need to do is throw a few chairs and maybe even a table inside, and you’re set for a winter retreat. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to put a portable heater in their as well for when it’s close to freezing outside.

Alvantor’s bubble tents come in three sizes: 10 by 10 feet, 12 by 12 feet, and 15 by 15 feet. They hold quite a few people, but during the pandemic, we recommend you follow CDC guidelines and stick to socializing with your direct household, for now. You can shop the clear tents on Amazon for $399.99 to $749.99, depending on the size. Just think how much you’ll be using it, and it can even be used in the summer to escape mosquitos!

Out of over 200 reviews on Amazon, these tents have an average of 4.1 out of 5 stars. “First I’m going to say I was skeptical that this was too good to be true, however, I do NOT regret this purchase at all,” one buyer wrote. “It stayed so warm int here that we had to take off our jackets and sit in t-shirts, and it was 40 outside.”

Various people noted that even when it’s cold, the sun’s heat gets trapped inside the bubble, making it warm without the need of a heater. Others said that a downside is that it might not hold up to very strong winds, so there might be a need to take it down in those situations. However, since it’s just a matter of popping up the tent, it’s not a large task.

Not a bad spot to enjoy the great outdoors this winter, right?

Update: A previous version of this article showed models inside the bubble using a gas grill, which we don’t recommend.
