GKN director set to become Smiths Group's CEO

LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - Engineering giant GKN (LSE: GKN.L - news) confirmed on Monday that Andrew Reynolds Smith has stepped down from the board of directors. The FTSE 100 company had first announced Reynolds Smith's departure on 7 July, when it indicated that the outgoing director would become the chief executive of technology Smiths Group (Other OTC: SMGKF - news) , bringing his 13-year spell with GKN to an end.

"Andy has played an important part in the success of GKN's automotive businesses and made a strong contribution to the group," said group chief executive Nigel Stein.

"We wish him well in his new role at Smiths Group." GKN shares were down 2.47% to 256.70p at 1050 BST on Monday.
