Glowing Meghan Markle delights children as she reads The Bench from her LA mansion

The Duchess of Sussex delighted children as she made an appearance to read her story The Bench to the cameras.

Surrounded by her gorgeous garden at her $14 million mansion in Santa Barbara, the mother of two looked totally at ease as she brought to life the words on the page.

A glowing Meghan Markle, who introduced herself as the Duchess of Sussex, also spoke about why her children’s book was “extra special” - thanks to the illustrator Christian Robinson.

In a piece to camera, she said: “Today I’m going to be read to you my book called The Bench with illustrator Christian Robinson...I asked him to do something special for me and use watercolours, which isn’t the normal medium he works in but he did it to make it extra special.

“I wrote this as a poem for my husband and our son Archie, and then turned it into a book so you could enjoy it too.”

Brightly Storytime channel shared the video on its YouTube page on Wednesday.

Penguin Random House, who published The Bench, are behind the Brightly Storytime channel.

The Suits actress styled a casual blue shirt accompanied with delicate jewellery for the outdoor reading session.

Elsewhere in the clip, the duchess said she loved sharing her storytelling with the kids’ YouTube channel.

She added: “I hope you enjoyed The Bench, I loved being able to share it with you.

“And now I hope you’re able to go and find your own special bench, or chair, or little quiet nook.

“Just a place that means something to you that you can share with someone you love. Have a great day and come back to Brightly Storytime soon. Bye!”
