Yahoo Finance ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ teaser clips arrive ahead of first trailer this weekend
Warner Bros has unveiled a pair of brief TV spots for Godzilla vs. Kong and it seems like the kaiju clash culmination of the MonsterVerse is going to be a gladiatorial battle for the ages.
You’re Next director Adam Wingard’s movie has been a long time coming and, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been delayed numerous times.
A first trailer for the film is due to be released this weekend.

The two very brief TV spots feature choice moments from the titanic skirmish, with Kong wielding a pretty nifty-looking battle-axe.
One of the spots features a line of dialogue which seemingly suggests that the enormous simian is being used as bait to bring Godzilla out of hiding — for reasons unknown.
Godzilla was last seen in the critically-panned 2019 blockbuster King of the Monsters, while his adversary has been absent from screens since Kong: Skull Island in 2017.
King of the Monsters concluded with Godzilla defeating King Ghidorah and the other kaiju subsequently bowing to him as their dominant leader.

It’s unclear what brings Godzilla and Kong into their violent conflict, but the movie’s official synopsis says it will see “the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages”.
The synopsis continues: “As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.”
The human cast includes Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Alexander Skarsgård.
The movie is going to be one of the first major tests of Warner Bros’s new release strategy, which will see films debut simultaneously in open multiplexes and via the HBO Max streaming platform.
Warner has not yet announced how it plans to release these movies in territories outside of America, where HBO Max is not currently available and cinemas are predominantly closed.

For their final blockbuster of 2020, Warner released Wonder Woman 1984 into UK cinemas in December and then offered the movie via premium video-on-demand in January.
However, cinemas have since shut their doors and there is no sign as yet of a PVOD release announcement for Godzilla vs, Kong.
In the States at least, Godzilla vs. Kong will be released on 26 March.
