GOP candidates bankrolling their campaigns

Apr. 22—ANDERSON — The Republican candidates seeking party nominations in the May 7 primary election are self-funding their campaigns.

Devon Norrick and Rick Gardner, both seeking the party's nomination for Madison County Commissioner in District 2, have spent a combined total of $34,173 on the campaign. The winner will run against Democrat Ollie H. Dixon.

Norrick reported raising $7,183 since the first of the year and has raised a total of $19,041 and spent $13,032.

His campaign received a $1,000 donation from his mother, Jodi, a member of the Madison County Council and $200 contributions from former county coroner Dr. Troy Abbott and Andrew Hanna, the chief deputy in the prosecutor's office.

Gardner has reported raising $21,630 for his campaign and spending $21,141. Gardner has provided $15,855 to his campaign and received a $400 donation from the Friends of Madison County.

In the District 3 race for County Commissioner, incumbent John Richwine and challenger Lisa Rinker have spent $11,402.

Richwine reported raising $11,279 and spending $2,008 to date. He received a $400 contribution from the Friends of Madison County.

Rinker reported raising $16,186 and spending $9,394 to date. Her campaign shows a debt of $12,800.

In the race for Madison County Auditor, Todd Culp and Katherine Callahan reported spending a total of $18,182 through Friday.

Callahan reported raising $17,370 and spending $9,406. Her campaign is showing a debt of $15,000.

Culp has raised a total of $8,823 and spent $8,776 with a contribution of $400 from the Friends of Madison County.

The two candidates seeking the Surveyor's nomination have spent a combined $23,313 to date.

Ken Kocinski's campaign is showing a debt of $25,000 and has spent a total of $12,899.

Charles Shepherd has contributed all $14,014 to his campaign and spending of $10,414.

The eight candidates seeking the three GOP nominations for the at-large seats on the Madison County Council have spent a combined $31,501 through Friday.

Incumbent Mikeal Vaughn has spent $13,412 on his campaign and has provided the campaign with $12,000 of his own money.

Vaughn received a $2,500 contribution from the Reagan Club.

Dr. Scott Green has raised $8,500 and spent $5,945. His campaign shows a debt of $8,000 and a contribution of $400 from the Friends of Madison County.

Kristi Grabowski's campaign is showing a debt of $10,000 and received a $2,500 contribution from the Reagan Club.

Her campaign has raised a total of $18,259 and spent $3,384 to date.

Carl Abel has spent $4,108 and raised $5,450. The campaign is showing a $4,000 debt and $400 contribution from the Friends of Madison County.

Jonathan Culp reported raising and spending $3,023 on his campaign. He received a $1,000 donation from Donnie Holland and provided $2,023 to his campaign.

Jason Brizendine reported raising $1,675 and spending $1,229. He received a $500 donation from Hanna and $400 from the Friends of Madison County.

Jim Abraham reported receiving $400 from the Friends of Madison County the only spending to date on the campaign.

Jason Turner reported no contributions or expenditures.
