Gordon Ramsay has described himself as “the proudest father” over son Jack joining the Royal Marines.

The Hell's Kitchen star praised his eldest son on Instagram over the "amazing achievement".

"Can’t tell you enough how proud I am of this young man Jack Ramsay you’ve made me feel like the proudest father today congrats on joining @royalmarines what amazing achievement," the 53-year-old wrote.

Gordon accompanied his message with a snap of Jack, 20, in his uniform and another of them posing together along with the chef's youngest child, Oscar, one.

He is also father to Jack's twin sister Holly and daughters Megan, 22, and Matilda, 18 with wife Tana Ramsay.

The couple sadly lost a baby boy named Rocky in 2016 when Tana suffered a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy.

Gordon has recently shown off how much Oscar resembles him, especially when it comes to his signature scowl.

He posted a photo of the toddler looking disgruntled alongside a snap of himself.

"Good morning like father like son......." he said.

Meanwhile, Matilda has followed in her father's footsteps by presenting her own cooking show on CBBC, Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch.

The programme follows the family on their summer holidays while incorporating cookery sections.

In September it was revealed that Gordon had managed to land his own new programme with the BBC. Instead of being a food-based programme he will be presenting a gameshow, Bank Balance.

Teasing the project on Instagram, he described the game as "high-pressure". It will see contestants trying to build themselves a fortune which could “come crashing down in an instant”, the broadcaster has shared.
