A classic roast chicken can't be beaten, especially one that's crispy-skinned and perfectly moist in the middle. But what if we told you that there's an exciting new way to make sure you get optimal flavour out of your chicken? You'd be thrilled, right?

Well, we've got just the trick... a gravy granule rub! Yep, we've just discovered a new way to achieve beautiful crispiness and incredible flavour from your roast chicken, and all it involves is a few basic ingredients mixed with your favourite gravy granules.

Spotted on TikTok via @caughtsnackin, the video has gathered a whopping 332,000 views along with 12,000 likes and almost 100 comments. It looks like we're not the only ones totally mesmerised by this delicious roast chicken hack!

Gravy granule rub recipe:

  • 1 tbsp rosemary

  • 1 tbsp thyme

  • 1sp garlic powder

  • 2 tbsp chicken gravy granules (they use Bisto)

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp black pepper

  • 40g butter

And it couldn't be easier. Simply mix all of the above ingredients together and rub all over your chicken before roasting in the oven.

For the complete roast dinner extravaganza, add your spuds and veggies to a baking tray, season and top with an oven rack for your chicken to sit on top of. This way, all those smashing flavours and juices will seep on to them.

Can't stop, won't stop? Say hello to Guinness roast potatoes.
