Fresh Meat and Gary: Tank Commander star Greg McHugh is among the new cast members joining the BBC Scotland TV show Guilt.

Filming has begun on the the new four-part series, which will pick up two years on from the events of the first run of episodes starring Mark Bonnar and Jamie Sives as brothers who accidentially killed a man.

Emun Elliott joins the pair in returning along with new additions McHugh, Watchmen actress Sara Vickers, Downton Abbey’s Phyllis Logan, Stuart Bowman from Bodyguard and Ian Pirie, who appeared in Chernobyl.

Filming on the Neil Forsyth-penned drama is now under way ahead of an expected air date in 2021 on BBC Two and BBC Scotland.

Bonnar said: “I’m completely overjoyed that Guilt is getting a second series.

“Neil has crafted four amazing scripts with some cracking new characters and an immensely involving plot, full of twists and turns.

“He’s really putting us through the mill – and of course, I’m over the moon to be working with Jamie again.

“We’ve assembled a fantastic crew – many returning from series one – and I know they’re just as excited as us to be a part of this wonderful show.”

Forsyth, who also acts as executive producer for the show, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been given the opportunity to continue the Guilt story.

“Once again, we have an amazing cast and creative team and I can’t wait to see them bring the scripts to life.”
