Yahoo Finance Greg Norman posts hospital picture saying he has COVID-19, son also tests positive
Greg Norman spent at least a portion of Christmas day in the hospital due to COVID-19. Norman revealed he tested positive for the virus, posting multiple pictures of himself in a hospital.
Norman, 65, posted three pictures from his hospital bed. A part of Norman’s caption read, “On behalf of millions, f—- COVID.”
Norman posted a video on Instagram a few days before Christmas saying he was experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. At that time, Norman had not tested positive for the virus.
Norman, who is Australian, criticized Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews in October for his strict COVID-19 lockdown. Norman praised the way President Donald Trump has handled the virus. Norman is an avid Trump supporter who hoped Trump would get re-elected.
Norman was released from the hospital on Saturday, but had to return on Sunday after he received another positive test. In an Instagram post, Norman said the “virus kicked the crap out of me like nothing I have ever experienced before,” and urged people to take it seriously.
Greg Norman and son played in PNC Championship
Norman’s son — Greg Norman Jr. — revealed he and his wife also tested positive for COVID-19. While Norman Jr. said he had mild symptoms, he said his wife was hit hard by the virus.
Both men took part in the PNC Championship, which concluded last Sunday. The Normans did not wear masks during the event. They finished ninth. It’s unclear whether Norman or his son were carrying the virus when they took part in the PNC Championship, though he said he tested negative at the tournament.
