Lady Gaga and Adam Driver's House of Gucci is one of the most highly-anticipated movies of the year, but not everyone is thrilled about the film.

House of Gucci is based on the 2001 book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden. The film covers the trial and conviction of Patrizia Reggiani (played by Gaga) after the 1995 murder-for-hire of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci (Driver), the grandson of Guccio Gucci - who founded the luxury fashion house - who was head of the company from 1983 until 1993, when he sold his stake in the company.

According to the Associated Press, the great-grandchildren of Guccio Gucci have spoken out about concerns they have about the film and have implored House of Gucci's director, Ridley Scott, to respect their family's legacy.

"We are truly disappointed. I speak on behalf of the family," Maurizio's second cousin, Patrizia Gucci, revealed to the Associated Press. "They are stealing the identity of a family to make a profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system... Our family has an identity, privacy. We can talk about everything. but there is a borderline that cannot be crossed."

Patrizia went onto explain that she had reached out to Scott's wife, Giannina Facio, to request more information about the movie's scope, but said that she has not received any answers. According to the Associated Press report, Facio actually met with members of the Gucci family back in the early 2000s, but that was to talk about a different project that would have focused on Paolo Gucci and Aldo Gucci as they expanded the fashion house's brand to a global scale.

Given the family's past interactions with Facio, the lack of communication from the production company has contributed to the family's concerns, Patrizia explained.

Patrizia also expressed concerns based on pictures from the film's set showing Al Pacino in character as Aldo Gucci and Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci.

"My grandfather was a very handsome man, like all the Guccis, and very tall, blue eyes and very elegant. He is being played by Al Pacino, who is not very tall already, and this photo shows him as fat, short, with sideburns, really ugly. Shameful, because he doesn’t resemble him at all," she said, adding that Leto, who is seen in some pictures with unkempt hair while playing Paolo is, "Horrible, horrible. I still feel offended."
