The holidays are the perfect time to get together with friends and family, but a jolly good time is often followed by a not-quite-as-jolly cleanup. If you usually find yourself spending most of your holiday party stressing over stains, these cleaning hacks are the best gift you’ll get this holiday season. You’re welcome!
1. Use white vinegar to remove icing stains
White vinegar is the perfect solution for any holiday cookie accident. Simply soak a rag or towel in white vinegar, and scrub away the icing stain.
2. Use a lint roller to clean up broken ornaments
If a Christmas tree ornament takes a tumble, carefully pick up the larger pieces using your hands, then use a lint roller to remove the smaller pieces.
3. Use Play-Doh to clean up glitter
Holiday craft gone sideways? No sweat! Grab a mount of Play-Doh and roll it over the spilled glitter. The glitter will stick to the Play-Doh for a quick and easy cleanup.
4. Use duct tape to clean up pine needles
If your favorite cozy, outdoor blanket gets covered in pine needles, start by taking a piece of duct tape and wrap it around your fingers. Then, use your now-sticky hand to easily remove all the needles.
5. Remove melted wax with an iron and a paper bag
Candles make for a wonderful centerpiece, but no one likes a tablecloth covered with melted wax. To remove the melted wax, place a paper bag over the stained area, and carefully iron over the paper bag using a steam iron.
