From ELLE

The mastermind behind Harry Styles’ world tour looks, Harris Reed had dressed Solange and Ezra Miller before graduating from Central Saint Martin’s.

Add to that a genius Instagram hat filter thats been used almost a million times by everyone from Kaia Gerber to Kiernan Shipka and designs featured on ELLE 's cover atop Cara Delevingne, and it's safe to say Reed's star is officially ascending.

It's unsurprising that our judges voted for them to sit on 2020's ELLE List, in association with Magnum - a celebration of this year's new leaders and shakers reframing the worlds of fashion, beauty, politics, culture and beyond.

Coming this Fall...

We interviewed and photographed Reed for the List. Here's what they had to say...

'My style is Renaissance painting meets Mick Jagger. As a child, I was flamboyant. I’d go to school in pink Lacoste T-shirts with matching scarves. Dressing up was me reclaiming my identity.

My Central Saint Martin’s interview ended in a yelling match. One tutor told me I was destined for failure. I yelled, “I deserve to go here, I know I’m good enough!” As I turned to leave, he smiled and told me he’d see me next year.

Solange wore my designs from college. Her stylist requested an all-white look for her from my end of year show. I haven’t fangirl messaged her yet - I’m trying to play it cool.

Designing tour outfits for Harry Styles changed everything. When we met, I wore silver flares, a fake fur jacket and no shirt. We got on immediately.

My Gucci internship turned into me starring in its campaign and show. I got a call the same day I applied saying I’d be on a flight to Milan the next day. When I walked in its Cruise 2020 show, the first person I saw on the front row was Elton John.

Making my graduate collection in lockdown was chaos. It took over my flat. Countless things were broken by my three-metre-wide hats and I wasn’t able to access my fridge for weeks.

A collaboration with my mum is next. She’s been a perfumer for 30 years. I’m launching a candle range so more people can afford to buy into the Harris Reed world.'
