Heartwarming video of man serenading his girlfriend from the top of his transit van goes viral

This is the heartwarming video of a man proposing to his girlfriend by serenading her from the roof of his Transit van outside her work.

Footage of Mike Ogden blasting out Stone Roses song Sally Cinnamon from the top of his van outside a Tesco superstore has been shared thousands of times online after being caught on camera.

Sign maker Mike, 48, surprised partner of two years Gaynor Marshall by parking up outside the store where she works in Warrington, Cheshire, and scrambling on top of his van.

Dressed in a tuxedo and armed with a karaoke speaker, he belts out the song as a shocked Gaynor looks on.

It’s not the first time the internet has loved a proposal - earlier this year Avengers fans Kelly and Ashley Ford won our hearts after sharing an image of them with matching Avengers collectors rings.

After serenading her, Mike gives Gaynor a bouquet of flowers before getting down on one knee to say: "You are my world. You would make me the happiest man in the world if you'd be my wife forever. Will you marry me?"

A teary Gaynor replies: "You know I will."

Mike, who spent weeks planning the stunt, said: "We spoke about if we get married, it would just be us two on a beach somewhere, no fuss. So I thought if that's going to be the wedding, I'll have to make the proposal a big event.

"I thought, why don't I sing it from the top of my van? Then my friend who is a DJ offered to lend me a speaker."

Gobsmacked Gaynor, 45, was coaxed from the customer services desk by work colleagues who knew about Mike’s plan.

She said: "I was totally shocked, I had no idea he was going to propose.

"A couple of girls in work knew what was going on and they stitched me up. They pulled me away from the desk and then said there was a problem outside I needed to sort out.

"I got out and saw Mike was standing there on top of his van and I was gobsmacked.”

She added: "The fact it was that song was extra special, because that's our song, it means quite a lot to us.

"There was no chance I was going to say no, I've never been happier. He's been my rock and I'd be lost without him."

The couple, who got together after matching on a dating website, have a holiday planned to Kos next year where Mike hopes they can marry on the beach.
